Platinum Dolato

Description:

Platinum Dolato is a sugary dense strain with some leaves shaded purple. Platinum Dolato is an Indica Dominant strain and is a cross between Platinum Kush and Dolato. Platinum Dolato smells of sweet, earthy, and carmel. Users can expect a hybrid experience of both highs, active imagination with racing thoughts, but a heavy body high. Individual THC test 20% and CBD unknown.

Fragrance:

Platinum Dolato’s fragrance is not pungent, but it is noticeable. The dominant fragrance is sweet with light hints of earthy and caramel.

Rank: 3.5 (out of 5)

Taste:

The taste of Platinum Dolato is one of its best highlights. On the inhale light hints of caramel can be experienced and stronger hints of caramel and sweet on the exhale. The taste is more noticeable on the exhale as caramel and sweet lingers. As the bowl goes on the taste actually becomes sweeter. Hits also continue to be smooth to the end.

Rank: 4.2 (out of 5)

High:

The high from Platinum Dolato is heavy with a decrease in motivation, but not a decrease in concentration. It is possible to stay alert. With Platinum Dolato both highs can be experienced. This strain is perfect for social gatherings where you might not want to be at or excited to go.

Slurricane

Description:

Slurricane is certainly a beautiful strain, stacked with sugary trichomes and a few dark purple leaves. Slurricane is a cross between Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch making it an Indica-Dominant Hybrid. The aroma of Slurricane is of light creamy overtones and a medium hint of berries when the bud is broken. As an Indica, Slurricane can zone a user out. Not the heaviest of Inicas, but Slurricane does offer a good “Netflix and Chill” kind of night ( enuendo intended). THC and CBD percentages unknown.

Fragrance:

Before breaking open the bud of Slurricane the light sweet creamy overtones are evident. It is not until the bud is broken that the sweet berry fragrance can be experienced. The berry fragrance is stronger than the sweet cream overtones. This fragrance I can relate most to Captain Crunch Berries.

Rank: 3.7 ( out of 5)

Taste:

On the inhale of Slurricane the light creamy overtones are experienced, but the sweet and berry overtones are non-existent. On the exhale the light creamy taste is more prevalent with the sweetness experienced, but very light. Berry overtones still lacking.

Upon smoking, one might experience the smoke created from the exhale to be fragrant. This fragrance is noticeable and is of light sweet cream. The bowl lasts 4+ hits of flavor.

Rank: 3.5 (out of 5)

High:

The high experienced from Slurricane was of one that zoned me out, but not in an inward sense. Mind wondered wherever it did. This is a nighttime strain, but should be said Slurricane does not give a couch lock feel, but more of loss of concentration. I would not consider Slurricane a heavy hitter, but I wouldn’t be comfortable out in public with it. I would go as far to say this strain is a great “romantic” strain.

Rank: 4.0 (out of 5)

Score: 3.8 (out of 5)

*Does not Recommend.

*Note from Reviewer: Slurricane ranked .1 point away from me being able to round it to 4.0 to have it recommended. Personally this gives me an indication that this strain is user specific. I enjoy light strains like these and I would personally purchase this strain myself, but that is a personal preference.

Candyland

Decrisption:

Candyland is a strain that takes its name from its esthetics rather than fragrance. When turned upside down the trichomes resemble a chandalier. Candyland is a Sativa Dominant Hybrid and is a cross between GrandDaddy Purple and Platinum Cookies. As a Sativa the effects are mood changing and offer a positive mood change, an enlightened state of mind. Candyland is best suited for daytime use even though it offers a light increase in energy. Users say they can experience sweet and earthy tones.

Fragrance:

The fragrance of Candyland is very light. When concentrating on the fragrance, light hints of sweet and earthy tones can be detected. There is a third fragrance that I took as gas, however, you never know.

Rank: 2.5 (out of 5)

Taste:

Candyland’s taste is very much like its fragrance, very light. On the inhale little hints of earthy tones can be experienced. On the exhale the sweet tones are present, but the earthy tones dominate. Flavor disappears by second hit.

Rank: 2.5 (out of 5)

High:

Candyland’s high is noticeably enlightening. However, comparatively to other Sativas, Candyland is on the lighter side. Burst of energy that a strong Sativa is known for, was not experienced. For a light user of Sativa Candyland would make a good match.

Ice Cream Cake (Gelato Cake)

Description:

Ice Cream Cake is an extremely beautiful bud. The dark purple and light green coloration is stacked with trichomes. Ice Cream Cake is a cross between Wedding Cake and Gelato #33, making it an Indica dominant hybrid. The fragrance is of light sweet vanilla overtones. This Indica dominant strain lives up to its name by giving users a heavy high best suited for sleep. Individual Test: THC 23.52% and CBD less than 1%.

Fragrance:

Ice Cream Cake is very light in fragrance. You could almost mistake it for not smelling like anything. However, it is true, you can smell light hints of vanilla and a slight bit of sweet. This strain does not have a defining smell.

Rank: 2.5 (out of 5)

Taste:

The taste of Ice Cream Cake resemblings the fragrance, very light. You can taste hints of vanilla on the exhale. The problem with vanilla like strains is their taste falls flat around the second hit.

Rank: 2.5 (out of 5)

High:

The high made me very inward and the feeling was super stoney. My imagination took off, but I had no energy to act on it. I did not get any euphoria and had troubling concentrating. Ice Cream Cake is a nighttime strain for sure.

Blue Dream

Description:

Blue Dream is a Gentlemen Stoners classic strain being able to stand the test of time. Gentlemen Stoners can document Blue Dream back to 2003. Blue Dream is a cross between Blueberry Indica and Sativa Haze, making it a sativa dominant strain. Blue Dream has a sweet berry fragrance resembling Blueberry Indica. Users say they experience a light full body relaxation and a mind altering euphoria. Users also experience a great deal of creativity. THC usually clocks between 17-25% and CBD less than 1%.

Test of Time:

Rating: 5 (out of 5)

*Gentlemen Stoners gives classic strains an extra 5 points for withstanding the test of time.

Review:

Fragrance:

Blue Dream has a very unique and distinct fragrance. Blue Dream gives off a light sweet berry cream fragrance. Those who are paying attention can smell the light hint of gas. However, the fragrance is on the lighter side and not very pungent.

Rating: 4 (out of 5)

Taste:

The taste of Blue Dream is evident on the first inhale. Mainly you experience the sweet berry cream taste. On the exhale, Blue Dream’s taste is heavily present and the user can experience the taste of sweet berry and a light gas flavor. The flavor is very light and pleasant. When I was smoking Blue Dream I kept being reminded of baked goods at Grandma’s house. Most of the flavor is experienced in the exhale and evaporates as the bowl goes on, but does not taste terrible. Taste fell flat after 4th hit.

Rating: 4.7 (out of 5)

High:

The initial high feeling from Blue Dream feels very eerie, like a new visual perspective on life. Blue Dream made me feel very outward and adventurous. It definitely made me want to do things. Be prepared for a mind altering high.

Forbidden Fruit

Description:

Forbidden Fruit has got to be one of the best strains fragrance wise. The terpenes within Forbidden Fruit smell of sweet cherry and strong citrus overtones. This is because Forbidden Fruit is a cross between Cherry Pie and Tangie. As one can expect from an Indica, Forbidden Fruit is a beautiful deep purple with few orange hairs across the flower. People say they experience a deep body high, which makes it good for relaxation. The THC ranges from 23%-27% and CBD less than 1%.

Review:

Fragrance:

The fragrance is unmistakeable, strong citrus but without the zinginess or tangy tones, if you will. The smell only can be best described as a grapefruit. There is a perfect mix of citrus, sweet, and floral scents. It should be noted that the city’s overpowers both scents. However, when you break open the bud the floral and sweet tones become stronger. There is no gas and no earthy tones.

Rank: 4.7 (out of 5)

Taste:

The inhale tastes like nothing, unless you take a large hit. Yet, on the exhale, magic happens. On the exhale the citrus and floral terpenes come out in full force. The best way to describe it is if you just got done smelling perfume. Most of the flavor is locked in the aftertaste. The aftertaste lasts around 30 seconds, maybe even longer. The flavor lasts the entire bowl, but gradually fades each time as one can expect.

Rank: 4.3 (out of 5)

High:

First noticeable change was I became thoughtful and alert. Second, I did not feel particularly motivated to do anything and experienced a light increase in mood. I just felt high, nothing to write home about. They high is light.

Mendo Breath

Description:

Mendo Breath is a cross between Mendo Montage and OGKush Breath. This strain is an Indica, you can tell by its aesthetically pleasing purple. The THC ranges from 19-20% and CBD less than 1%. People have said they can taste hints of vanilla and carmel. The effects have made people feel relaxed, happy, and euphoric. Interestingly enough, this strain is said to have been made specifically for euphoria.

Review:

Fragrance:

The obvious hints you get from this strain is earthy and sweet. It should be known that the fragrance is very lite. Upon first smelling the bud the earthy overtones are dominant with the sweet overtones being liter. I personally, could smell a slight hint of gas.

Rank: 3.5 (out of 5)

Taste:

The first hit is overpowered by the earthy terpenes, almost as if there was no other taste. It is not until you exhale that the sweet terpenes are experienced, although the earthy taste is still powerful. The gas is completely lost. Through the rest of the bowl the earthy terpenes are present, but the sweetness evaporates. The taste is lost extremely early and clearing the bowl is not advised.

Rank: 2.7 (out of 5)

High:

First noticeable feeling was the sensation of feeling free. I became lite hearted and giggly. I started having positive thoughts and the feeling of being down to earth. When thinking of situations in life I felt like I could rationalized them better.

Lemon Tree

Description:

Lemon Tree is a cross between Lemon Skunk and Sour Diesel. Its level of THC usually hits between 17- 25%, while CBD hardly clocks in at 1%.  A hybrid between Indica and Sativa, Lemon Tree’s structure is bushy with tall thin branches of even height. Users have experienced both energetic euphoria and relaxation.

Review:

Fragrance: Lemon Tree has a very pungent, gassy smell. Upon first smell this strain is heavy in lemon that almost seems to outrank the diesel. It is not until you break open the bud that the pungent gas smell of the diesel comes out in full force .

Rank: 5 (out of 5)

Taste: Smoking Lemon Sour Diesel is exactly what you’d expect. It tastes of hints of lemon with a full pallet of gas. The after taste is the same as the inhale and lasts a couple seconds. While the taste of lemon fades throughout the use of the bowl, the gas stays almost the entire bowl.

Rank: 5 (out of 5)

High: The high took effect almost immediately upon smoking. The high was very stereotypical of a Sour Diesel. I became very energetic and task focused. I did not get the relaxation body high that I seem to read about.

Rank: 4 (out of 5)

Score: 4.7 (out of 5)
